Well it's that time of year again.

Copper River Salmon time!

I also grilled some asparagus, sweet white corn, and made a caprese salad. I used orange and yellow Heirloom tomatoes, and I made a light dressing of white balsamic and olive oil. The white balsamic makes the dressing sweeter.
Perfect summer salad.

Great dinner to watch Sopranos by.

Like your life is flashing before your eyes.

Sort of.

Click and give it a second to load. It's a .gif!

My friend Bill made this for me, exactly one year ago today.

That's me, sitting on the bench of an NYC museum, looking up at the 'art', which is me in graduating phases of my life. I absolutely love it.

But, I wish I could just...flip them.

My favorite song right now...

Gotye's 'Heart's a Mess' from his second album 'Like Drawing Blood'.

This cool music video by animator Brendan Cook is just icing on the cake.

I'd wander the earth and follow him to a new planet anytime. Even his scary little sidekick doesn't bother me. Very much.

A little something to break up the monotony of a Monday.

I don't know about you guys, but now *I* need to get my drink on.

Easter brunch...

at Steelhead Diner. Company was great, view was incredible, but the service was very sketchy. Probably because we were sitting smack dab in the middle of a sharp curve, and the waiters used our table as a pivotal point, more than anything.
The layout of the restaurant was very odd, and not at all user friendly.

But the food rocked, so who cares.

Yes, those are HUGE chunks of crab on my Sequimbled Eggs.

Ok! Ok!

I can take a hint.

Check back soon.

I thought of a way to save money.

Biking or riding the bus to work.

Each one of those things represents a one month parking permit.
Jeez.

I want a fatboy.

Something you can just stuff into the corner, and throw yourself on.

Maybe share him with friends.

A reminder to myself, to order him...

from these guys.

My new view at work.

I have a distracting perch at work now. I can catch all sorts of things.

People on a mission to get their caffeine fix at Starbucks...

New websites to check out...

And even a touch of the crazy.

Praying to the hydrant gods...

Rolling a cigarette, then scuffing it up on the sidewalk...

And saluting the sky to start your day out right...

This little guy has better moves than I do.

I caught myself trying to mimic him. I dare you not to.

Keepon (pronounced, "key-pong") is designed to perform emotional and attention exchange with human interactants (especially, children) in the simplest and most comprehensive way.

'Human interactants' intrigues me. I think I know a couple.

If you want to find out more about Keepon, you can check him out here.

Sitting in chairs. Part two.

Manhattans were my father's favorite cocktail. He passed away a year ago Valentine's Day, so they have become my favorite, as well.

I think I've found a pretty good one at
Crow.

It's actually called a Perfect Manhattan. From their menu:

Perfect Manhattan 9.
Basil Hayden’s bourbon, Sweet and Dry Vermouth, bitters and an orange twist.

When Lane, one of Crow's bartenders, set it down in front of me, I was first struck by the burst of citrus under my nose, from the orange twist, then by how refreshing it tasted, with its little chips of ice, and then the mellowness of the Basil Hayden's.

It was perfect.

Thanks for sending in the pic, Zombie Dog!

I'll take my fans anywhere I can get 'em!

Just a reminder.

This brilliant series starts tonight on the Discovery channel at 8:00.

I've been SO looking forward to this.

Check out the trailer here, reviews here.

I love this vase. I want this vase.

"The inside ball is perforated with four holes in various sizes to fit with a single flower as well as a big bouquet of tulips."

Or even by itself, it kicks ass.

This teddy bear chair is pretty nifty too...

...in a creepy, eat you alive, kind of way.

Sitting in chairs. Part one.

I got my hair cut today, and I have always loved the little Eames/Knoll/whatever style it is, credenza my hair stylist has. So I took a picture of it.

She got it off of craigslist, which I also love, but that's another story.
She promised to sell it to me, if she ever decides to get rid of it. Yay!

I'll post my craigslist finds some day. I've totally scored on some great stuff.
Ooh...something to look forward to, blog people.

Gap ads are odd, for the most part.

But I still think this one is kinda cute.

Friday, March 16, 2007

"You are a donkey, Mr. Bush".

Said Chavez.

Ok, I couldn't pass up that segue. Friends of mine are getting married in the Yucatan, and we're all pretty excited about the donkey. Serving drinks.
After the ceremony.

Even if I brought a little bit of Seattle weather with me, it'll still be great.

Jeff Goldblum has a new TV show.

And I don't plan on missing it. I had the chance to meet him a couple years ago, and he was a total sweetheart.
See?

My friend Rebecca looks a TAD too excited.

Anyway, according to imdb.com, Jeff (yes, we're on a first name basis, so there) plays an eccentric, brilliant cop, who interacts with the dead crime victims in order to solve criminal cases.
Ten o'clock, NBC, tonight. I'll be there.

Tuesday, March 13, 2007

I love photography.

A friend of mine is having a gallery opening tonight to show his work. If you're in the area, drop by!

Cool Gadgets.

Who doesn't like gadgetry? You'd have to be a moron to not appreciate these things.

About half the price of the Segatoys HomeStar Pro 21st Century Home Planetarium, pictured here:

is the Segatoys HomeStar Pure Home Planetarium. It'll project 10,000 stars onto your ceiling.

That's all the shiny you'll ever need.

I can see Orion.

A friend brought me some flowers...

...and I took a picture of them.

Riveted yet?

The Crypt Keeper of Rock

A few of you have expressed concern over whether or not this BLOG is zombie-friendly, and I want to assure you that it is:

And he still looks better than David Lee Roth.

Can we all join hands and pray that Eddie Van Halen makes it through his stint in rehab? I think we may need to pull together on this one.
